Happy 2011 to one and all!!
Well life sure is full and rich these-a-days for me. I started the year off with a concert at 42nd Street Moon, a company in San Francisco that hosted Karen Ziemba and I for an evening of John Kander's work, a "salon" if you will. It was a lovely evening, performing with KZ is always such a blissful thing, and the "Moonies" were very gracious hosts. A big plus for my trip; I got to take Karen to my favorite restaurant in San Francisco, Bar Agricole which is owned by my cousin Thad. It is the hottest bar and restaurant in San Francisco, having won RAVE reviews from all the local papers, most importantly the Chronicle! If you find yourself in the city by the bay, GET THERE. You wont be disappointed.
I am going to be teaching some master classes at University Of Michigan, looking forward to seeing Ann Arbor once again, I haven't been there since I toured through with CRAZY FOR YOU in 1927! (Maybe it was 1997).
I am excited to say my performance company The New York Song & Dance Company is headed back to the Middle East on March 4th, this time we're going to doing our concert and outreach programs in the island country of Bahrain. I am very excited to see more of this wonderful part of the world.
I just got back from my hometown of Seattle where I choreographed a wonderful production of GUYS AND DOLLS at the 5TH AVENUE THEATRE! While I was there I had the chance to performed ONCE IN LOVE WITH AMY for their Spotlight Night honoring the works of Frank Loesser. I have had the pleasure of performing there a few times and I am really happy to be returning, they are a really wonderful company to work with there. G&D opens on May 19th and runs through June 5th before heading to my friend Jamie Rocco's theatre - the Ordway in Minneapolis - for a quick engagement (June 9th through June 26th). Then I am directly into rehearsals for a wonderful working of Show Boat at my old stomping grounds The Goodspeed Operahouse in East Haddam CT. Needless to say I am always happy when I am there, and it will be in the middle of the summer so it couldn't be more beautiful!
I also did an interview with an up-and-coming "web-zine" called STATED, take a look!
That's it for now, keep checking here for updates (I promise I am getting better) and have a peaceful, productive and joy filled 2011!
Salud!
Noah
